The Inherent Style of Japanese Culture

 

I believe that the beauty of traditional performing arts handed down in Japan is fully applicable to modern society.
For example, in the traditional performing art commonly known as “Noh,” the beauty of the costumes and the butoh dance is remarkable.
It is a world away from the Westernized Japan of today, a country that has deviated from its own original values.
Since ancient times, Japanese culture has had a unique style of living, in which people fully respect the feelings of individuals and the gods who protect the country and the region, and offer their sincerity in their respective fields of expertise.

What I want to do

 

I would like to bring that style of life, which is rare in the world, to the people of Japan.
I hope to realize this rare style in my paintings and express it, however modestly, in my work.

The world is such a big place, and I am sure that there are people out there who will discover that even my poor works of art contain Japanese qualities and that they are meaningful to them.

I have faith in that.
